TARAS GLADYRENKO, 1960, Ukraine
Gladyrenko graduated from the National Academy of Art and Architecture (1987) with a diploma in design and theatre art production. Taras works from his studio in the central part of Kyiv. His main theme is the portrayal of people in different situations. The artist likes to watch and examine the world with an ironic and philosophical approach, considering life a delicate mixture of drama and comedy as a result. Taras has a story to tell in each picture. He challenges the viewer to identify the complexity within the relations of his characters, as the situations are often real and familiar to us. These are beautiful artworks that will make you smile and ponder, cleverly made images that will stay with you. Taras has clearly created his original expressionist style using strong wide palette strokes and bright dramatic colours.
Gladyrenko exhibits nationally and internationally, his most recent exhibition is at the fine art gallery ‘The Biscuit Factory’ in Newcastle. Gladyrenko’s works are in private collections all over the world.
